Alternative Supply Installations

Automatic and manual changeover systems for generators and alternative power supplies, installed to safety standards.

Service Overview

Automatic and manual changeover systems that safely connect a generator or alternative supply to your property. We supply and install changeover switches that transfer power cleanly during outages, with proper interlocking so your installation stays compliant and your equipment stays protected.

A changeover switch is the piece of equipment that lets a generator or alternative supply feed your building safely, and it's not optional. Connecting a generator without one means back-feeding into the municipal supply — which creates back-feed issues and non-compliance, and can damage your equipment when the power comes back. Every changeover system we install has proper mechanical or electrical interlocking, and we won't connect one without it.

The first question on any installation is manual or automatic. A manual changeover is simpler and cheaper — you walk out, start the generator, and throw the switch. An automatic system senses the outage, starts the generator, and transfers the load on its own, which matters for businesses that can't have someone on site at 2am. We'll work through your needs and your budget and recommend honestly, because an auto changeover on a house that only needs the lights and the alarm is money wasted.

Sizing matters as much as the switch. If the generator is too small for the load, it hunts and stalls under load; if it's oversized, it runs inefficiently and costs more to fuel. We check the loads you actually want to run during an outage — not everything in the building — and balance them across phases on three-phase installations. The system is tested, certified and issued with a COC, and we maintain installations on contract for clients who can't afford a failed start when the grid drops.
