Founder
Dave started his electrical journey in South Africa in 1972 when he was brought over by Anglo to work as a junior electrical engineer on the mines. He worked with Anglo and later with Iscor before leaving the mining industry to work alongside his Father in Law at a newly formed organisation which was to conduct meter reading within the greater Johannesburg area, later moving nationally. Dave worked with this company until he was promoted to managing director, where he led the company until 2003, running the main utility department and managing the electricians within the business.
He opened what would become Current Connections in 2008 where, with his extensive knowledge of the utility management industry and an already trusted name in the utility and electrical industry, he built the business and with it a customer base that knew they were in trusted hands. Now with over five decades in the electrical and utility management industry, Dave has shaped the way Current Connections approaches every project — practical, honest and engineered to last.
Dave's commitment to honest advice and quality workmanship has been the foundation of the business since day one. He built Current Connections on a simple rule that still guides the team: tell the client what they need, do the job properly, and stand behind it. It's the reason so many of our clients have been with us for decades.
These days Dave is less visible on site, but he remains involved in the background — advising on complex metering and utility projects, guiding the team, and keeping an eye on the standard of every job that leaves the workshop.

We're based in Randburg, Johannesburg, and we service clients across the country. We're registered with the Department of Employment and Labour, we carry full public liability insurance, and every job is done to SANS 10142 and issued with a Certificate of Compliance where one is required.
