On new builds we work closely with builders, architects and project managers from first fix to final connection. That means the distribution board position is agreed up front, cable routes are planned before the walls close up, and the point layouts are walked through on site — because it's a lot cheaper to move a socket on paper than after the plastering is done.

Rewires are a different story. Many of the homes we rewire in Randburg and the surrounding suburbs still run on the original wiring from the 1960s and 70s. Old cloth- or paper-insulated cable breaks down over time, and aluminium wiring from certain eras is a known fire risk. If your lights flicker when the geyser kicks in, or your sockets run warm, it's usually worth having a proper look before the problem finds you.

Most of the repair call-outs we do are for the same handful of problems: breakers that won't stay on, sockets that stopped working, lights that flicker, and that one power point that's warm to the touch. The key is finding the cause, not just resetting the breaker. If a circuit trips twice in a week, something is wrong — and resetting it a third time is how you end up with a bigger repair bill. When we arrive we start by testing, not guessing — we check the circuit, the connections and the load before opening anything up, and most repairs are done on the same visit.

Every installation we do is load-tested and issued with a Certificate of Compliance when it's complete. We don't cut corners to save a day — the distribution board is labelled, the earth leakage is tested, and the work is done to SANS 10142. If your insurance company or municipality ever asks, you've got the paperwork.

For businesses and complexes we offer scheduled maintenance visits rather than waiting for something to fail. A two-hour inspection twice a year catches loose connections and tired breakers before they become a production stoppage. It's the kind of work that never makes it onto an invoice for a dramatic story, but it's how you avoid one.
